UX When the User Has a 39°C Fever and Zero Bandwidth
At MedConnect, the interface was designed not for the “ideal user,” but for someone who is genuinely unwell: large controls, minimal steps, fast access to a doctor, and an emergency button.

In MedConnect, we designed the interface not for the “ideal user,” but for someone who is genuinely unwell. That means no quests like “fill out 12 fields and confirm your email” — just large controls, minimal steps, and fast access to a doctor.
AI collects symptoms in advance of the consultation — not for hype around AI, but to save time for both the doctor and the patient. If the symptoms are critical, the emergency button starts the protocol: ambulance dispatch + geolocation sharing.
Another challenge is connectivity. With a weak internet connection, we implemented adaptive video quality: a blurry picture is better than a call that drops at the worst possible moment. Sometimes the best UX is simply not being annoying.
