When the UI Saves You from a Legal Mess
In VoteBoard, we closed the quorum auto-check: the system now shows in advance whether the meeting is valid, so voting doesn’t start blind and produce legally void decisions.

In VoteBoard, we closed off something that sounds boring, but can actually bring down an entire meeting: quorum auto-checking.
The case is simple and very real: with 9 directors, you need 5 for quorum. If only 4 show up, you can keep clicking buttons all day, but all decisions are legally void. Not exactly a great prod story after a Friday release.
What we did: the system tracks participation statuses before the meeting even starts:
Not confirmed → Confirmed → Present / Absent
As a result, the secretary can see in advance whether the meeting is valid and doesn’t start voting blindly. In practice, this is UX for a very specific audience, where the mistake is not “oops, a bug,” but a risk for the business and the lawyers.
Against the backdrop of the trend toward AI automating everything under the sun, we’re betting on basics: first remove critical scenarios where the system shouldn’t impress, but prevent an invalid decision from being made.
