Retention as a feature, not Excel magic
In PDP, we introduced `hold_percentage` — a mechanism that automatically holds back a percentage of a contractor’s work value until all issues are fully resolved. No manual recalculations or back-and-forth calls.

In PDP, we introduced hold_percentage — a mechanism that automatically holds back a percentage of a contractor’s work value until all issues are fully resolved.
What it does in practice: the system calculates the retained amount automatically based on the scope of completed work and the contract linkage. No manual recalculations, no “oops, the formula shifted,” and no half-day calls.
Why does this matter for the business? Simple: while defects are still open, part of the money stays on hold. For the contractor, this is no longer an abstract KPI but a very concrete financial incentive to close issues faster. In an era when everyone is chasing AI automation, these targeted mechanisms matter too: less busywork, more control, and a direct impact on money.
In short, we didn’t just add accounting — we built a real financial lever into the platform.
