On PDP Mobile, we set up OTA updates for the JS bundle: small and critical fixes reach users without a new release in the store. Yes, without the classic quest of “built the app → waiting for review → praying” 😅
What we did:
- for Android, we use RuStore; for iOS, AppStore
- we update only the JS bundle, without touching the native part
- in the admin panel, we added versioning, integrity hashes, and firmware activation/deactivation
Why this matters:
- ship fixes quickly
- control which version is active
- force an update for critical bugs
Against the backdrop of the trend toward faster mobile delivery and the endless race for time-to-fix, this is no longer a “nice to have” — it’s the baseline. Especially when a bug shows up on Friday evening, and coffee is no longer enough ☕️
