When one channel isn’t enough: we built 3-layer notifications for PDP
On the PDP construction platform, we put together multichannel notifications: Email for invitations and confirmations, SMS for critical alerts, and WebSocket for real-time events. We also added personalization, backpressure, and prioritization.

On the PDP construction platform, we built multichannel notifications: Email for site visit invitations and confirmations, SMS for truly critical alerts, and WebSocket for real-time events. We also personalize them with customer data so it doesn’t feel like “Hello, user #42.”
The interesting part started with high-volume sends: if you push everything at once, the system will quickly say, “that’s it, I’m done.” So we added backpressure and prioritization: important messages go out first, and everything else is throttled without overloading the system.
In practice, we built notification delivery like a good DevOps pipeline: urgent first, everything else without chaos or self-inflicted DDoS. Against the backdrop of the real-time UX trend and resilience requirements, this is no longer a “feature for later” — it’s a baseline.
