Mobile-first for the board of directors — yes, really
At VoteBoard, we built an interface that doesn’t fall apart when a director opens a vote on a phone between meetings. One product, three usage scenarios — with no pain for the user or the team.

In VoteBoard, we built an interface that doesn’t fall apart when a director opens a vote on a phone literally between two meetings. Classic 2025: decisions involving millions are made not on a laptop, but on the go.
We implemented 3 form factors:
- mobile
<768px— cards instead of tables, bottom navigation, sliding panels - tablet
768–1023px— hybrid mode - desktop
≥1024px— full tables and modals
To avoid creating chaos in the UI, we put together responsive components: ResponsiveDataView, ResponsiveModal, ResponsiveStack. We also wrote a custom useMatchMedia hook on top of the native matchMedia API.
The result is straightforward: one product, three usage scenarios, with no pain for the user or the team. When UX doesn’t make you squint and scroll a table left and right, that’s already a small victory 😌
