How We Built Cheat Resistance in LearnSpace
In LearnSpace, we added not a punitive anti-cheat system, but a smart behavior filter: we catch answers that are too fast, copy-paste, and identical answers from different accounts without banning users.

In an era where LLMs can do homework faster than coffee cools down, we at LearnSpace added not a “punitive” anti-cheat system, but a smart behavior filter.
What we catch:
- answers that are too fast — when someone clicks as if they were in turbo mode;
- copy-paste — the classic “I did it myself, honestly”;
- identical answers from different accounts — hello, group creativity.
But the key part is different: the system doesn’t ban or penalize. If a pattern looks suspicious, we redirect the user to tasks that can’t be copied: more comprehension checks, fewer chances to coast on autopilot.
We also put a lot of thought into privacy: we built detailed progress tracking while staying compliant with GDPR/FERPA. So the analytics are there, but without any extra “peeking.”
The result is anti-cheat without the “big brother” vibe: it helps people learn honestly instead of just catching them red-handed.
