How We Built a Subscription for CryptoScope Without Killing Unit Economics
In B2C SaaS, it’s no longer enough to just turn on Stripe: when API costs rise faster than AI memes, margins go negative. At CryptoScope, we built a subscription model for 2,500+ users and kept the balance.

In B2C SaaS today, it’s no longer enough to just “turn on Stripe and go” — when API costs rise faster than AI memes, margins go negative 😅
At CryptoScope, we designed a pricing structure for 2,500+ subscribers: the base plan had to be genuinely useful, but with clear limits. That fine balance between not losing the user and not running the product at a loss.
What we built: — webhook payment handling so subscription statuses update automatically, without manual magic; — a grace period after expiration, so access isn’t cut off immediately; — downgrade without data loss: fewer features — yes, losing history — no.
A separate pain point was the cost of exchange APIs: as the audience grows, every extra request starts to “eat” into profit. That’s why budgeting and request optimization here are not nice-to-have — they’re the baseline.
Bottom line: monetization is not just about pricing, but about architecture.
