CryptoScope: real-time rates without a “dying” UI
At CryptoScope, we built WebSocket connections to several crypto exchanges and aggregate rates in real time. To keep the UI from lagging, we added virtualization, debounce, and memoization.

We at CryptoScope built WebSocket connections to several crypto exchanges and aggregate rates in real time. Updates arrive every second, and that’s where the usual problem starts: if you just stream everything to the frontend, the interface quickly says, “That’s it, I’m done.”
To keep the UI from lagging, we enabled list virtualization, debounce for unnecessary re-renders, and memoization wherever we could avoid recalculating the same thing over and over. As a result, even under heavy data flow, everything stays smooth.
Another challenge is that each exchange speaks its own “dialect,” so we normalized the data into a single format. That made it possible to compare rates correctly and see spreads between venues without magic or manual guesswork.
When the market starts shaking again, systems like this are no longer “nice to have” but a must-have.
