How We Got Dozens of Exchanges Working Together in CryptoScope
In CryptoScope, we built a price aggregator with WebSocket connections to a bunch of exchanges and normalized different APIs and data formats into a single model so we could compare quotes fairly.

In CryptoScope, we built a price aggregator with WebSocket connections to a bunch of exchanges. It sounds simple, but in practice it’s classic IT: every exchange has its own API, its own data format, and even its own philosophy for naming fields. Somewhere it’s price, somewhere last, and somewhere it looks like the schema was written by someone after their third meeting 😅
What we did: we brought this entire zoo into a single format so we could compare data across venues fairly. On the backend, we used stream processing, because prices arrive every second. On the frontend, we used debounce and memoization so the UI wouldn’t freeze when the market decides “it’s volatile today.”
Now that real-time analytics and low-latency UX are no longer hype but a baseline, solutions like this matter a lot. We basically built a translator between exchanges, but without losing meaning.
